…Coastal storm impacts coastal NC and southeast coastal VA today through Sunday…

A coastal Storm will impact coastal portions of NC and far southeast VA today through Sunday. Wind gusts of 50-60 mph (locally 65 mph) expected this morning through Sunday afternoon. These winds will result in isolated to scattered power outages and difficult travel for high profile vehicles. Minor to moderate (locally Major) coastal flooding is expected along the shores of the sounds, bays, and beaches, mainly during times of high tide. This flooding will result in road closures. Flooding of waterfront homes and businesses as well as evacuations cannot be ruled out. An additional 1-2 (locally 3) inches of rain may result in very localized flooding in poor draining urban areas such as parking lots or low-lying intersections.
